Welcome to the brand new and relaunched Studio 279 website, home of award winning short films! As regular visitors may have noticed, we’ve given everything a bit of a spruce up and reinvented ourselves. Well, sort of. We have a new logo, a new site and soon hope to have some new material to show off soon.
So, what is new about the Studio 279 website? Well, first, we have a brand new brand. Our graphical logo, with the film reel and camera theme, has been phased out in favour of a nifty photographic one. In our view it has a modern, but slightly classical feel to it, and we hope our work will be similarly modern and classy. The eagle-eyed among you will notice that gone is the blue homepage of old, replaced by the crisp whiteness available only on snowy mornings, and the internet. With the change in logo, we’ve gone for a fresh look that compliments our chic new badge. The whites, greys and blacks of the new Studio 279 banner look that bit nicer set in a white, grey and black webpage colour scheme. Very minimalist, don’t you know.
Whilst the minimalism of the colour scheme doesn’t extend to simply a one line of text and a solitary desk lamp layout, the homepage is now much easier to navigate. The feedback we got with our last site was it was hard to move about and find what you were looking for, with far too much scrolling needed to do so. With a horizontal menu above and little side widgets to help you get around, as well as a handy search bar, that should be a thing of the past. Without scrolling down you can now access our Films page, our News page (some less self aggrandizing folks would call that ‘a blog’) and our About section.
When you do scroll down a bit further, you’ll see we now have links to our individual films, so you can jump to the one you like the look of straight from the homepage. You will also find our most recent blog posts available right then and there, as well as links to our social media pages on Facebook and Twitter. Don’t forget to like our page and follow our tweets!
Our News page is also much changed. Owing to the limitations of our last provider, we had to embed a WordPress blog in the page using a pesky iFrame. Not anymore! Everything is now all in one place, the blog properly integrated into the site as was originally intended. We have imported all the old posts from the previous blog, so if you do so desire you can rummage through them for our archival random musings on raised tuition fees, the birth of cinema or the worst films of last year. This is also the place to be to hear what’s going on with our latest projects and filming based activities.
Our Films page is much the same as ever it was, with all our award-winning and nominated work viewable in its lovely glory. As soon as it is ready we will add a Portfolio section, displaying the showreel of all our most recent and best film work. All being well, a section to demonstrate our corporate video work will also be ready sooner than later, so you can see our skills that often pay the bills. This will then go hand in hand with our Testimonials section, where our satisfied clients sing our praises. The raison d’être of the new site is to increase the videography work we receive, so if you need a video, large or small, whatever the purpose, head over to our Contact page, or glance at the Services page to get a flavour of how we can help.
And that concludes our tour of the new Studio 279 site. Please remain seated until the blog has come to a halt. We hope you enjoyed flying with us. Stayed tuned as we hope to have more updates for you on our latest projects, and the various stages they are at, very soon indeed. If you have any thoughts about the new site, don’t forget to drop us a line, either via the comments, or via our contact webform.
Until next time, arrivederci, signore e signori!
