Every year Virgin Media Shorts offers filmmakers an invaluable opportunity; enter their prestigious film competition and potentially walk away with an award of £30,000 to create a mentored short film. Until this year we have never entered, with other projects or outside work always preventing us from working towards such a life changing goal. Now we have entered a version of our ongoing cross-media documentary project Being Frank. Watch it now! The contest closed for submissions on Thursday 18th July, but we need your help!
For you see, whilst a curation panel will compile a shortlist of the twelve best entries in this year’s competition, a “lucky” 13th spot will be decided by you, the public! All thirteen will then be considered for the Grand Prize of £30,000 funding for their next short, the People’s Choice category voted for by web viewers, and The TiVo Award decided by views via Virgin Media’s set top boxes. In order to judge the most popular entry to make up the thirteen, buzz from Twitter from between Monday July 22nd and Sunday July 28th will be monitored. This is where you come in!
To vote for Being Frank, simply tweet the name of the film followed by the designated hashtag:

Alternatively you can click the Twitter Share button beneath the video player to register your vote. Regardless of whether the film progresses further in the competition or not we are very proud of it. It is an extremely personal project for us, celebrating a significant figure in our lives with a humorous tale recounted from his army service, whilst conveying the painfulness of his current medical condition.
Any support you can provide would be gratefully received. Thank You!
