Today we are delighted to announce that David Poole has been nominated for an Inspire Birmingham 2014 Award. Spearheaded by the Birmingham Leadership Foundation (BLF), an independent charity supporting emerging young leaders in the West Midlands, and awarded in partnership with the Birmingham Mail newspaper and in association with the Royal Bank of Scotland, the awards recognise inspirational young talent in the Birmingham area. The accolades are designed to herald the positive achievements and contributions made by young people aged 15 to 30, with winners across eight categories receiving a range of support to continue their personal and professional development .
David has been nominated as one of three candidates in the Award for Arts & Culture category, recognising nominees’ achievements in the areas of art, film, music and theatre. He will be interviewed by a panel of judges this week, ahead of the glittering awards ceremony taking place at Aston Villa Football Club’s Villa Park stadium on Thursday 20th March. We are extremely thrilled David has received a nomination from such a fantastic awards programme. It is extremely humbling for him to have been shortlisted as a talented and inspirational young person, alongside such deserving and gifted fellow nominees. Regardless of the outcome on the night it is a great honour to be recognised in this way and is massively encouraging for David, both on a personal level and for his future career as a screenwriter and director.
A huge thank you to the panel for considering David for this award, as well as the BLF, the Trinity Mirror group and RBS for showcasing the achievements of Birmingham’s young people in such a spectacular fashion. Special thanks and an enormous debt of gratitude are also extended to Lee Kemp, Founder and Director of Vermillion Films, one of the region’s very best film companies, for proposing David’s name for consideration. It is very much appreciated. To see some of Vermillion’s exemplary work, visit their website here.
